It's Obama's fault. It's Dubya's fault. It's Clinton's fault. It's Trump's fault. It's Biden's fault. Meh. I'm trying to stay away from the Red Team vs Blue Team bickering in this thread. There are valid and substantive reasons to fault any or all of these people for their actions concerning Ukraine. A bitchfest about your least favorite politician is outside the scope of this thread.
Let's bring your post around a bit and make it more on topic. Fault. NATO? Putin? Zelenskyy? Let's stick with those three to make it simpler and see how that shakes out.
Mr. Putin lives next door to Mr. Zelenskyy. Mr. Putin notices Mr. Zelenskyy is in the NATO gun store. That night Mr. Putin goes next door and tells Mr. Zelenskyy he is not allowed to purchase a weapon and bring it into his house. Mr. Zelenskyy shuts the door in his face. Mr. Putin goes home very angry. The next day Mr. Zelenskyy bring home a big box that says NATO Guns. Soon afterwards Mr. Putin goes next door and burns down Mr. Zelenskyy's garage and kills Mr. Zelenskyy's wife, kids, and dog.
Change the situation. Mr. Putin believes Mr. Zelenskyy is a danger to himself and others. Does Mr. Putin now get a free pass to burn and kill?
Change the situation, again. Mr. Putin has video of Mr. Zelenskyy raving about how he is "going to teach that bastard Putin a lesson he'll never forget!" Does Mr. Putin now get a free pass to burn and kill?
I could keep going with this thought experiment, but let us cut to the chase and ask the question: at what point does YOUR neighbor get to come into YOUR house and burn stuff down and kill your relatives because he's angry at you for owning a weapon? Where's the line? When is that acceptable?
That's where I don't get the folks who support Putin. If you have a reasoned argument to make on that front, I'd like to hear it.
