Greene’s claim falls apart the second you look at what Trump actually said. He did not endorse gender‑affirming surgeries for minors. He didn’t call for them, support them, or promote them. What he said was those parents—not the federal government—should make medical decisions for their own kids. Greene is reframing a parental‑rights statement as a policy endorsement because it’s politically useful for her faction. But the words simply don’t match the accusation. If someone wants to debate the policy, fine—debate the policy. But pretending Trump said something he didn’t say is just dishonest.
Saying “parents should decide their kids’ medical care” is not the same thing as saying, “I support this specific medical procedure.”
