He never served because he had options and was prepared to run off to Canada (ROTC) if drafted. He also claimed a particular officer, Pete Hegseth, Cos played as a soldier. Pete earned the CIB.
I have always been amazed at the "armchair" warriors. He is as phony as they get. Ever since he was humiliated on his knowledge of weapons, or lack of knowledge I should say, he still yaps and flaps those knob shiners.

2004: Completed infantry training at Fort Benning and began active-duty assignments.
2004–2005: Deployed to
Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, serving as a platoon leader overseeing detainee operations.

Iraq War combat zone; served as an infantry platoon leader in Baghdad and later in civil-military operations in Samarra.
