Meanwhile, I actually paid taxes...because I actually had the income to generate a tax bill. That’s how it works when you’re pulling real retirement pay, Social Security, IRA distributions, and benefits that add up to something. So, you flexing ‘I paid nothing’ just tells everyone your income was low enough to slide under the threshold. Not exactly the power move you think it is.
