Lithium batteries are expensive and toxic. And heavy as hell.
They MORE than make up for the weight saved from gas powered.
Besides being a bit problematic when they catch fire (actually self-ignite - even MORE fun),
they are a bitch to extinguish.
Cold weather, long haul with any load, infrastructure will NEVER match a gas tank for versatility, etc.
Simple **** attention whores ignore the strip mining and end-of-life nightmares for these cars...
