My grandfather was a NM cop for 40 years, back when cops were manhunters and gunfighters. I grew up around him, at a time when EVERYONE carried a little .32 or .38 as habitually as people carry cellphones today, kids carried rifles to school to hunt small game for the family stewpot, and you NEVER had mass shootings or school shootings. In those heady pre-'68 days, my grandfather saved up his pennies and bought his first gun from the hardware store when he was 12, along with the gear to cast his own bullets and handload his own ammo. It’s a long way from Kennesaw to Albuquerque but the elders of this nation need to make walking around with a pistol in a city something unnatural and dangerous and just flat out wrong.
Kids are growing up thinking there’s some kind of right to walk around with pistols on your belt, like Dodge City.
