you really are too dumb to continue this with.  Socialism is government ownership and control of the means of economic productions.  Not small pieces of it.... a publicly owned electrical grid is not socialism.  A publicly administered fire and crime prevention organization is not socialism.  A government administered health care system for veterans is not socialism.  A government administered health care system for low income personnel is not socialism.... or for elderly individuals... not socialism.  A government built, maintained, and managed toll road system is not socialism.  I say again:  Socialism is government ownership and control of the means of economic productions.  America has a capitalist  economy and has had that since its inception.  Oh...and it's had fire departments and police departments and armies and navies since its inception as well.

Speaking of firemen and cops, your fire and police argument is weak.  It would make some sense if people in a town had the right to decide to NOT pay that portion of their taxes that other people paid for the funding of fire departments and police departments...and, in response to that exercise of the LIBERTY, they were FREE to protect their own homes from any fire danger and to protect themselves from any criminal behavior on the part of other citizens...and celebrate that LIBERTY by spending those unpaid tax dollars on whatever they wanted to.  That isn't what happens.  Whether you would vote for fire protection in your town or not, you still pay taxes that go to fund fire protection.... kinda like paying for healthcare protection.  

And don't kid yourself... if you wanted to plant your rugged individualist flag on some hill and decide to refuse the financial assistance the government can provide for healthcare, no doctor will turn down your stack of Benjamins smacked down on his receptionist's desk in payment for medical treatment.  You ALWAYS have the choice to pay for the doctor's costs all by yourself.  You have that LIBERTY.  Exercise it, if you're really that dead set against all this government intrusion.  You still have to pay for it... just like you still have to pay for the fire department, even if you put your own fires out all by yourself.
