Good lord!!!! How many times have I been asked this and answered it on this site. Socialism is a well known term. It was known to even the MOST UNEDUCATED members of our society during the entirety of the Battle of Ideas during the 20th century. For 100 years it was the major ideological question throughout the entire world... which is the preferred economic model, socialism or capitalism? To even ask the question what is socialism and what is capitalism is an embarrassment (and Fascism too). I understand, once socialism was proven to be an economic system with few if any redeeming qualities diehard socialists have sought to obfuscate the term socialism.
