Okay, I read through the data. The numbers listed are 37.6% of public sector jobs are union. By the description this includes indirect non-government employees who work for the government on government contracts. For instance if you are working at Space-Ex on a rocket paid for by NASA you are considered a public sector worker. Or cleaning the bathrooms at NASA under contract for that matter.
It doesn't mention military anywhere.
I forgot how we got sidetracked on that even. Anyway, remember years ago many of the government guys I worked with found out they were in a union after having worked for the government for more than a decade. They were shocked. Many were the most anti-union people you've ever met. They were quite pissed about it. Talk about a racket. Getting paid to head up a union your members don't even know you exist?
