As a little side-note tidbit of information, we don't really need to worry about ICBM's and strategic nukes here in the US and Canada any longer. We have the capability to knock out a VERY HIGH % for long enough our response would likely put an end to continued strikes. This makes it all the more unlikely opponents might choose to strike first as they would be obliterated before they could substantially strike from a distance. We have more to fear from some brain-washed terrorist sneaking one into or close enough to our shores. Still, even a strike on Russia or China would cause the same aforementioned issues here in the US. While it is exceedingly unlikely the US would strike first, it is assured we would do so in retaliation for even a single nuclear strike on our soil, against our forces, or against allied soil. And there is no such thing as nuclear strikes in a limited area, as even a small number of nukes would cause issues as discussed above as the dust kicked up high in the atmosphere would soon cause world-wide calamity..
