First, what IS science? It's an inquiry, sure - but there are gradations of quality. So, what is the gold standard?
While trials and studies are pretty much useless for an illness that manifests in 3 stages, each of which requires different/additional drugs/nutraceuticals, each of which would introduce another confounding variable to a study.

The problem is that whole cloth lies and fraud are masquerading as science, to profit pharma, media, government agencies, political campaigns, hospitals, etc. etc.Well, that's randomized testing across many thousands of people across many years - that is how we arrive at "Here is what's so."
Is that ever going to be done to test the efficacy of intermittent fasting on the cyancah? Who would fund that?
Intermittent fasting DOES INDEED look promising against the cyancah. People fasting with chemo fare better than people NOT fasting with chemo. But there will never be tests without the chemo. The chemo is paying for the tests. Fasting isn't.
For profit science is never going to be honest - it can't be if it wants to, and it doesn't want to.
That's not to say there isn't any value. It's just to say that science is not ever going to be entirely reliable. That isn't how it's practiced, in the best of times - and these are far from that. Science is on the town - a vagrant cadging meals at rich men's tables.
