Remember, it was Putin himself who made the call on releasing the Victoria Nuland tapes. He had hoped it would force the turtles to duck their heads - I believe he had miscalculated the cuckery of the west and the information/narrative control of the white noise machine.
I think it is more likely he will blow up some embassies, letting the west know that if they want to come out and play, it's going to be rugby, not table tennis.
So far nothing of any real significance has been lost yet...
