It's just a frozen hellscape, and then overnight, it is teeming with a billion insects and everything that eats those insects and everything that eats those things. Just overnight - boom. Then three months later, back to frozen hellscape.

9 months of winter and 3 months of relatives, they say up there in north dakoty.

June Berry pie. Mmm mmm good.
Lol.
well, life in the North isn't for everyone ....
In fact ...
when my wife and I first took possession of her father's ranch when he passed ...I told her that I didn't know if I could handle 9 months of winter and severely cold temperatures.
That was 24 years ago....
And I dont regret a single minute of it ....
Now my wife is a different story....she wants to sell it all and move back state side in the next couple of years and buy a property in either Arizona or Texas ...
She is sick of the snow and the cold ....
and I don't blame her ....we have worked hard making a life here in the north ....
but it's getting to the point that she is finding it harder and harder to cope with the responsibilities that a rancher has ...especially in the winters....
and as for me ...
I still get a kick out of young people coming here and trying to make a life for themselves ....
Especially those that have come from a warm climate like south Africa  ...
We have a neighbor who is a young doctor that moved into our area straight from Pretoria ...and his first winter almost made him regret his decision ...
I told him to get rid of the tesla and buy a truck because it was getting old saving his *** every other day ....with my tractor.
But life goes on ...
