america is very good at sanctioning other countries which hurt the people.
- Secondary Sanctions: The U.S. actively targets third-country entities (particularly in China and India) that continue to trade with sanctioned Iranian sectors.
- FATF Blacklist: As of 2024–2025, Iran remains on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) blacklist, making international financial transactions nearly impossible even for non-sanctioned entities.
- Humanitarian Exemptions: While OFAC maintains general licenses for medicine and food, banking restrictions and "over-compliance" often hinder the actual flow of these goods to Iranian civilians.
