See, that's where you're wrong!
The way I digest the promises Trump has made is by the sheer logic of a policy by putting myself in the shoes of those foreign countries that will get crushed by the Trump tariff.
Do you REALLY think that China or Mexico will simply shrug their shoulders and raise their prices that will force them to be uncompetitive with the rest of the market for their product? You think they'll be happy to accept a sales drop of 50% or more because domestic US made products are now so much cheaper? Most will absorb the majority of that cost increase themselves rather than lose those kinds of sales.
Just look at the lies that the idiots at CNN tell you and how you're gullible enough to accept their theory as gospel.
I GUARANTEE that US auto makers WILL NOT suffer an 18% drop from their current levels! They will adjust their purchasing and logistics to avoid that, and reap the rewards of higher sales than ever as those foreign auto makers can't compete with that!
Try considering the reactions to such a change from the perspective of those business owners and you may just have an inkling about what's coming. Of course, learning the basics of economics wouldn't hurt a gullible liberal like you one bit!
they keep the facilities and pass the tariffs to american car buyers. if they relocate they will have to spend billions of dollars. true they can raise prices but why go thru all the trouble? either way new car prices will be through the roof.
