If you want to hear the history of the information agenda in America you need to go back to Hearst newspapers. Before Hearst, almost all news had an agenda in the form of pamphlets. Even the American Revolution was a persuasive argument if you have ever read the Federalist papers. Hearst newspapers changed this paradigm by offering only the bare facts and leaving commentary to the editorial section. Just a bit of a history lesson.
