I remember the metric system being a lot simpler. Celsius is a easier system for instance. Water freezes at 0 degrees and boils at 100 degrees. That's all there is to it. The measurements are easier too. There are 1000 millimeters per meter and 100 centimeters per meter for instance. That's why Purdue and NASA use the metric system. No fumbling around for numbers that don't match.
I do kind of agree with you on the point of California and New York though. Perhaps all policy shouldn't be coming out of liberal bastions. Still, some conservative portions of the country could use a little blue too in my estimation.
Nothing is easier than defending the status quo.
