Here's how scientific method works. Scientists report on the latest legitimate information they have. When they discover or receive additional legitimate information, they report on that. As the science develops the reported changes.

There is scientific evidence that masks keep virus particles from reaching the body through nasal and oral pathways. I think the world wide and long term use of them in the medical practice proves that. But I guess the Easter bunny exists.
