your assumption that this country is so great and the founding fathers were so wise...purely a product of indoctrination. They made many very fatal errors...such as the way they handled racial issues...and failed to address the problem of money in politics.

meanwhile the way you look at trump is totally absurd. If you actually want to point to people who insisted on winning no matter what the cost...you should obviously look at mister abraham lincoln first...but i get the impression your history is just informed by mainstream 'pop' versions of history that you would expect to find in corporate media...not the sort of thing that a person who reads actual books and is serious about education would have. Your idea that trump is remarkable in any way is just funny.
in fact he was mostly just a massive disappointment. What i like about him is that he was able to show large numbers of people that they are constantly lied to. That is a very important first step in anyone's education.
but he failed to do anything about it and he failed to manifest any of the changes he wanted to...in fact he did the opposite...he gave us criminal justice reform and nonsense like that. In fact, it is very easy to imagine the guy was just controlled opposition from the very start, and he never WANTED to win. Exactly the opposite of what you have concluded (which is the kosher media informed opinion)
and finally...the usa is NOT a nation. a nation refers to a people who have a common sense of their legacy and destiny. The USA is actually an empire, and the people here are deeply divided...and always have been
Well that's a long one but I will address two points. The first is our founding fathers. The British often say we are lucky to have a founding myth. However, that myth is not all fiction. We've been a nation for over 200 years on similar principles. Those principles were declared universal in 1948 and there has been a lot of success with that notion. Anyone who doesn't believe that most of the global South wouldn't want to live in America instead certainly sees the beacon that we truly are.
As far as empire, the United States could be considered one although not a traditional empire. We give the right of individual destiny in reciprocal fashion with economic benefit for many nations which usually see our presence as a positive and not a negative. We don't cut off the hands of those who rise against us like traditional empires vis a vie the British Empire. As a follower of Fascism the notion of Empire is probably more heavy handed given the actions of Hitler. To compare global commerce as an evil greater than the Third Reich is probably a misnomer to say the least.
Nothing is easier than defending the status quo.
