The aftermath will be judged Assholes on Parade overshadowing an understandable emotional release.
Just because the BLM protests were to the point of being an extremely dangerous riot doesn't mean January 6th was a non-event. Angry armed "protestors" were breaking into the Capital building and chanting "hang Mike Pence!" Because Trump lost the election. I would even go further and say Trump's attitudes and words made the BLM protests even worse due to his comments and indifference to the black community. Whatever you call it, the protestors bordered on a coup attempt on the day the election was to be certified.
Nothing is easier than defending the status quo.
