Fact is, I doubt Russia needs China's weapons - but I haven't been invited to inspect Russias arsenals in years.
China is catching up with its hardware right now. They also know how to do more with less. India, South Africa, and Venezuela all buy their weapons from other nations. China makes their own and could presumably cause Russia to improve it's military beyond some of the cheap drones Iran is selling them. Don't believe me?
