The funny thing about the Reagan myth (although I wouldn't call it a complete myth) is that Communism fell in 1991. Reagan left office in early 1989. He did give the "tear down this wall" speech but many people forget that George HW Bush was President at the actual conclusion. Reagan was probably a large player but it sometimes is a misnomer in history.
Nothing is easier than defending the status quo.
