Regan was not an isolationist, but at a time when it was best for the United States to expend resources in leading the world away from Communist world domination.  That's where things were going in the '60's, '70's and early '80's.  I get what Regan did at the time he was governing.

To some degree it has.  But, times have changed and we Americans have serious problems at home.  We have been a bitterly divided nation for over 20 years now, and we tend to get more divided under the authoritarian rule of race-baiting Democrats.  Yes, its such a big problem right now that we cannot afford to be the world's "leader" right now. Tell England, Germany or France its time for them to step up while we are getting our own house in order. The UK had to do this with Brexit.

I get it.  You are looking at Regan, as Regan governed a different nation in the 1980's.  However, that is not the nation we have today.

• NASA's space shuttle program and Apollo moon program have long been dead.  Obama made NASA an outreach agency to Muslims.  Space research has been privatized and many other nations are in the game.
• Nuclear fission/fusion technology is no longer limited to Russia and the U.S.
• Illegal aliens invading our nation is out-of-control
• Homelessness is out-of-control
• The drug epidemic is 10-fold worse that it was under Regan.  In fact, nations are weaponizing America's drug addictions against us.
• NATO is not living up to its obligations - if the obligations are "too rich" then the US needs to be relieved of its burden as well.
• The US is doling out way too much tax-payer money to support foreign welfare.
• We are beyond "broke" as a Federal Entity.
• The Dollar continues to lose value, while Americans rack up more and more debt.
• We are paying too much in taxes.
• We have a huge, worthless, bloated-beyond-comprehension amalgamation of bureaucratic agencies.
• Corruption has caused one party to weaponize the entire Justice Department and Internal Revenue Service against another party to try to retain power.
• We have found out that our Government has been conducting autonomous, secret programs without supervision concerning non-human invaders of our planet.  Yes, our government has been lying to us and enslaving us to support God-knows how many "secret programs".

Buddy-Boy, we have real problems here at home.  Problems that really require a President (and Congress) to put America first, at least for a substantial period of time.
