The study, titled “Racial inequities in homicide rates and homicide methods among Black and White women aged 25–44 years in the USA, 1999–2020: a cross-sectional time series study,” was published in The Lancet medical journal on February 8 and was funded by the National Institute of Mental Health of the National Institutes of Health. The researchers said some of the causes of Black killings were poverty, lower levels of education compared to white women and employment.
