That is human nature - to avoid looking mistake-prone. I won't pretend to fully understand it either. Seems we avoid being tagged with a mistake almost as much as we try to avoid death. It's amusing when someone starts boasting about a lottery ticket "win".
When I have the chance, I always ask how much that $50 cost them.
The dumb people clam up and the smart(er) ones openly admit it cost way more than the $50.
Even here in Anonymous Land, we fight having to admit a flaw.
Weird, but that's one of the biggest things in a chatroom.
