The ability of humanity to halt the rapid and dangerous changes is gone in as little as two years. In two years, the catastrophic effects of a warm world could become permanent and then worsen.According to The Guardian, “The latest assessment by leading climate scientists found that in order to achieve a 66% chance of keeping below the 1.5C target, emissions from 2025 onwards must be limited to 80bn tons of CO2. That is 80% lower than it was in 2020.”The scientist who did the study made two observations. The first is that to curb the worst of climate change, the process would have had to start in earnest in the mid-1990s. The second and related one is that it is too late to solve the problem.
