War is messy, a lot messier than it was some 80 years ago. When the only country in the world with nuclear weapons decides to drop two on its enemy, that's about the last time anyone saw an unconditional surrender.
Israel got a decisive "win" against Iran. Take it. Use this opportunity to solidify your relationship with your allies and demonstrate you are a nation for peace. Israel couldn't see the forest from the trees and blew it. Or, nearly blew it. When Trump angrily declared that he was pissed at Israel and that neither Israel nor Iran knew what the **** they were doing, Netenyahu got the message and quickly reversed course. Hmmmm, we shall see.....
