Yeah, I've done that too. The one thing the "investment advisors" (stock pickers) are right about is that you miss the biggest up days trying to time the market like that. I don't mechanically dollar-cost average into a stock. But, if I'm convicted on a particular stock, I start accumulating that stock over time, watching its fundamentals and making sure I'm not overpaying.
