Anyone here follow the (legal) Machine Gun market? I just checked the market board on the site started by Buddy Hinton (don't know if its still owned by him).
Well, I guess none of the machine gun owners think they Huges Amendment is getting repealed anytime soon. This was part of a law passed around '86 prohibiting anyone from owning machine guns manufactured after 1986. So, there's a limited number of registered ones which are legally transferable.
Guns that sold for $2,000-$2,500 in the early 2000's now sell for $16,000++. A registered DIAS that used to cost about $3.5K in 2000 is now considered "cheap" at $40,000.
A semi-auto FN FNC, where there are actually more registered auto-sears than semi-auto rifles (which can still be legally converted) sell for about $6,000 simply because they can "host" a registered full-auto sear. If that weren't the case, they would probably be in the $2K range. The converted full auto FNC's sell for nearly $22K.
