It's a tough call between soft, expanding rounds, like the ones you mention above and hard, armor-piercing penetration rounds. I have been leaning toward the latter for home defense. Yes, this is contrary to all conventional wisdom isn't it. There are concerns about such rounds punching through walls and injuring others.
But, here is what I see. IIIa body armor can be found all over Ebay for about $120 on up. I'm sure you can find it on amazon, and other specialty websites. Also, I have noticed violent thug-movies prominently using body armor. So, you know these thugs who are breaking into homes are likely using body armor as well.
Why wouldn't they be? Times are a changing, and I figure that it is time to change ammo as well.
