It's a tough call between soft, expanding rounds, like the ones you mention above and hard, armor-piercing penetration rounds. I have been leaning toward the latter for home defense. Yes, this is contrary to all conventional wisdom isn't it. But, here is what I see. IIIa body armor can be found all over Ebay for about $120 on up. I'm sure you can find it on amazon, and other specialty websites. Also, I have noticed violent thug-movies prominently using body armor. So, you know these thugs who are breaking into homes are likely using body armor as well. Why wouldn't they be? Times are a changing, and I figure that it is time to change ammo as well.
