I just needed a bunch of cheap .22 lr because I had several kids shooting with me. They were shooting old tube-fed .22 rifles (bolt action and semi-auto) and a little Cricket .22. Trying to find a box of CCI stingers around here is like looking for the Holy Grail.
I know a lot of people shoot 22 to keep up muscle memory but it isn't the same.
For now, I've got plenty of cheap 9mm to shoot. I order the stuff 1000 rounds at a time. Same with 5.56. I'm pretty stingy with my .308, though.
