china, russia and australia would love it. for they produce the most gold. so usa would beg china, russia and australia for gold. the nation that would benefit the most is austrailia. they produce the most gold per nation population. come to think of it, usa would kill everyone in australia and steal the gold. today's usa dollar is backed by the size of their military. and north korea's defense is their nuclear bombs. so. looks like nuclear bombs are a better way of backing your currency than gold.
