Collectors will hang on and miss the opportunity to cash in at the peak in value. Speculators already have a price point to sell. The value of these cards will steadily increase until the bottom drops out. Someone mentioned "Beanie babies" and i believe that is a good example of how collector items can be overvalued until the bottom drops out. Take the profits when the card hits the price point.
