Prigozhin said his goal was to remove Gerasimov and Shoigu. Prigozhin was aided by a growing amount of senior generals. Putin knows there is discord in senior ranks of the army. Putin needs Gerasimov and Shoigu to remain loyal. Prigozhin had to go and Putin got rid of him. Contrails from missiles fired at Prigozhin plane are on film.
