Blood sacrifice is not required for avocados to grow. If you want a tree ripened avocado, you must refrain from plucking it before it is ripe, and you must also defend it from birds, bugs and small creatures that also enjoy eating avocados.
By the way, the original English word for avocado was alligator pear. But that sounded unappetizing, so the California Alligator Pear Association chose the name AVOCADO. In Mexico, the word is aguacate, which English speakers thought should rhyme with wawabait. Aguacates have a bumpy greenish skin, like what we call Hess Avocados. The larger black and green smooth skin fruit are known as Pahuas (PAH waz).
For 40 cents I Had Avocados Fully ripe In Mexico.
