In your situation, staying put is probably not a great option.  Those who get out first would have a better chance at finding a place to shack up for a short time.

In a SHTF scenario, a long term food supply would be my biggest concern, with water being a far second.  I have a stream that runs through the far side of my land, but nothing is set up to irrigate crops. Even if I could ultimately plant my own food, that takes lots of time, lots of chance at failure. Over the long haul, if civilization isn't quickly restored, you need to find a good source of food.  Everyone thinks you can just raise chickens or rabbits or grow ****. Chicken and rabbits need food too, and bugs will eat nearly everything you grow.

That's great advice! If I can get outta here. What I need to do is really prepare with a remote site that I can stock. Because living in the city, there's nothing I can do if the SHTF. I can't transport everything at once. So I need a place to slowly bring things to. I'm looking at bunkers in ND... Have you seen those? 30K for an empty bunker. probably more now...
