But it seems I was a bit unfair by accusing you of messing with my head, I thought about it a bit more and there's indeed a solution...
You take 6 marbles and put 3 of them on each scale, if they weigh the same then different marble must be one of the other six...
Then you take 3 marbles of the pile with the different one in it and put them on each scale.. together with 3 each from the pile with has the normal weight... that gives you 3 marbles with the different one in it and it tells you wether it's lighter or heavier...
The last step is the same, take two marbles of the 3, if they weigh the same it must be the last one...
I admit it, that made my head hurt... but it didn't take me 7 hours...
Is the marble heavier or lighter? And it has to work every time in every scenario! No gettin lucky!
