I think it's true despite the polls. I was member of my Democratic Town Committee for years, treasurer eleven of them. We were a typical midsize municipality of under 40,000, had our share for machine gliches and faulty mail ins but I don't remember any claims of fraud, not one. You should take answers to that sort of poll question with a grain of salt. The question raises an issue that people may see as implying gullibility if you were to express confidence in elections. A better test of faith in elections is the fact that people will wait sometimes hours in line to vote.
