My ideology is the same as theirs, adherence to the principle of enlightened liberalism expressed then in the founding documents and 18th century liberal philosophy. You appear stuck in a cramped view of history and life, so we are talking from different orbits. You have absolutrly no reason to think that men who decided that us citizenship should only extend to free white men of good character would subscribe to any of your own ideology. That is in fact absurd on its face.
Adolf hitler expressed admiration for the founding fathers (fyi he also read books) and I see no reason why the respect would not be mutual.
18th and 19th century 'liberalism' was in fact fundamentally a departure from the state being primarily a religious institution (divine right of kings to rule) and towards becoming a racial institution. (If you are not a people defined by your beliefs then what is left? Your race...there is no third option) Known as nationalism. Hitler certainly represented that sentiment.
