Political leaders do not gain control of minds because they make good speeches or are original thinkers. Hitler was extraordinarily charismatic. It is lost in ancient news reels. Much better is a photograph I've seen of Hitler from well before the war. He's sitting at a table, evidently speaking to ten or so college age looking kids at the table with him. Every eye is on him and the expression on every face is one of transported awe. Probably one of the most intelligent leaders in world history. The allied leaders, in contrast, would just speak a lot of stupid platitudes
