A great stupidity underlies the request that Pence, as our Constitutional referee, delay certification (mentioned in a different thread yesterday), namely the idea that The Constitution would permit the vice president, a federal office holder, to obstruct state certified electoral votes when division of state and federal power is the very structure of the government. In addition, Pence had a personal stake in the election. Any delay was to his benefit, too.
