I was raised the same way. That verse was crammed down our throats. We were raised to believe that the Jews could do no wrong. They are to be forever revered and extolled above all else. It is a guilt thing. Christian denominations preach a remarkable level of guilt if you curse Jews. Many are brainwashed by it.
