It may surprise you to learn that not everything in lif3 is about "efficiency." For example, most people in business (and government) promot3 those they like. No need for a consultant, as you say the peeons already have the answers, we just need someone with big enough balls to do something about it.

Potential Savings and Identified WasteOverall Productivity Opportunity:
A McKinsey report from September 2023 estimated a total potential productivity improvement opportunity of approximately $750 billion annually across all U.S. government levels. This equates to more than $2,000 per U.S. resident.
Identified Cost Savings: The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has reported that addressing duplication, overlapping programs, and other cost savings measures has resulted in approximately $725 billion in financial benefits since 2011, with billions more possible if further actions are taken.
Improper Payments: The federal government made an estimated $236 billion in "improper payments" (payment errors, overpayments, underpayments, etc.) in fiscal year 2023 alone.
Most people will say they want "efficiency" and "cost cuttinG" measures applied to groups they don't like while secretly relying upon or even promoting nepotistic practices in their own ranks, unless all these small business owners just happen to not be able to find a worthy successor other than their own kin
