We had set down with a lawyer trying to determine how to handle the parents assets. He was pushing splitting assets between spouses and for a small fee of $15k he could make that happen. We chose to liquidate every thing and turn to cash.
The families? They show their true colors when the time comes around. Some of the stories are over the top crazy!
I'm actually a bit concerned that a future potential in-law has extremely malevolent intentions with regard to the "true colors" you mentioned in the last section...
