The easier you make life for our  poorest people  ...the more unwanted babies / future felons they tend to poop out.
The aim of socialism is for the state to direct economic policy, whether it relates to international trade, specialization (e.g. focusing on gaining a comparative advantage in industries like semiconductor equipment or automobiles), building out the nation's infrastructure, regulating private investment (capital flows), setting union policies, and taking ownership of key industries if necessary (not required in all cases).

How generous or minimal the welfare state is not relevant. The Soviet Union required everyone to have a job (whether that's a good or bad thing is another question) and didn't pay people to stay at home unless they were actually unable to work.

(Not that there was any point...their TV channels sucked and there wasn't that much to do for fun anyway :rofl:   :rofl:   :rofl:  )
