It is my opinion that the meaning of the word has changed. I was, for many decades, liberal. I was a JFK democrat. I was also a proud and patriotic American citizen. Now those two seem to be sundered. To be a liberal now clealy means one agrees with globalism or even with, so called, Marxist ideals.
