Everything that's occured since two Saturdays ago, as well as moving forward from today, has to be viewed through that prism. Trump isn't even supposed to be in the equation.
I'm thinking they wanted both old men out of the way, and at this stage of the game, the Republicans wouldn't have had time to field a replacement that could have beat Kameltoe. That was the strategy.
Trump surviving the hit threw everything into a tailspin for the establishment... and I truly hate to see what they have up their sleeve to try clean it up.
