Agreed. The nature of hail maries is that they are likely to fail. Next stop: maybe the state takes over the city's policing. Or maybe the city continues the current trend and loses even more humans, becoming even more Planet of the Apes.
I don't look for it to lose a great deal more population, because I highly suspect that anyone with the wherewithal to GTFO had already gottent the **** out. I will not be surprised if even the greater metro area starts losing population. Most of its anemic growth in the past decade was Memphrican flight. It's not drawing anything but Memphrican refugees. As the city continues to decline, I believe the metro area will thin out, as well.
Memphis was already pretty bad before, but the recent slide gained speed in 2005 when Katrina washed all the garbage out of Nawleans to points North.
Houston caught a bunch of them too, but has handled the situation a little bit better... keyword there is "little".
Memphis is the next generation of the Pork n Beans crowd from the Big Easy. A whole lot of dope and money pass through that town, and the vermin are doing all they can to get their little slice of it.
The biggest FedEx hub in the Nation (and the world) is located there because it's the perfect distribution hub.
Go figure huh.
