This is true from an objective standpoint,but the reality is that the history of Black people was not told at all when I was in high school, other than I think I recall some mention of George Washington Carver. But that was in MISSOURI history class. The American history teacher I had mentioned only that she said about the Civil War ,"some say it was about slavery,others say it was about states' rights". The textbook covered up to the end of WWII,but Naomi Johnson only made it to the end of WWI.
The general tendency is to entirely ignore Black history:nothing about lynching,Jim Crow, redlining, forty acres and a mule or the the Harlem Renaissance.
Because the truth hurts little white children's feelings.
Thats why desantis os afraid of actual history.
He doesn't want the American white children to know the truth about American history.
He wants a white washer history of America.
