I lived through every bit of it, you committedly ignorant neocon. More jobs were created in Carter's four years that in Reagan's first SIX. Sorry/NOT sorry that the facts make you look stupid.
The reasons unemployment was high were two-fold.
1. Unlike Reagan, Carter counted EVERYONE who was out of the work force - not just those drawing benefits. If Reagan had not changed the way the numbers were tallied, he'd have had worse unemployment numbers than Carter.
2. The workforce grew by more than half during Carter's years, because women were forced out of their homes and into the workforce from the policies of Johnson and Nixon.
The fact that you were THERE is CLEARLY of no consequence. My suitcase was in Paris - it isn't any smarter for it.
